UK Jazz outfit The Jamil Sheriff Octet have been together for 4 years and are currently touring the UK. In 2003 the Octet recorded its debut album, "Daydreams". The music is colourful and exciting. It hits on different feels, from Swing to Latin to Funk and the melodies are strong and engaging. This is intelligent and original music and it is highly accessible as well as being beautifully recorded. There are many post-bop influences, with highly articulate solos from some of the best musicians in the UK today.
