Brothers on
the Slide are a collective of Leeds based musicians who have been performing
together for the last four years. At the core of the group are the combined
song writing talents of lead vocalist Pete Huckerby and keyboard player
Wayne Pollock, backed up by Kenny Higgins ( Bass ), Chris Sharkey ( Guitar
) and Tom Hendricks ( Drums ). "Try" is their debut album which
is due for release in July 2007. Wayne is a prolific composer and writes
for several other artists as well as his own Jazz trio. He has recently
collaborated on releases from Cara Robinson, The Players, Kelly Dickson,
Laura Fowles and Corinne Bailey Rae. Pete Huckerby's voice has real Soul
and he had been in constant demand as a performer for many years, including
a one off performance with Robbie Williams, before starting to write with
Wayne Pollock. After an outstanding performance at the Cork Jazz Festival
in 2005 the band came to the attention of ITV bosses who made them the
focus of the TV special "Leeds Uncovered" which was first broadcast
in 2006 on ITV1. Brothers on the Slide continue to tour and are currently
working on new material for a follow up to "Try".
